Because we are human. Many people that say they are Christian aren't. Sure they go to church and pray the prayers that the church tells them to pray, but doing the Will of God, no way. That would go against the teachings of the church.
People all over the world play Christian. They don't really know the Word of God nor do they choose to study it. But that's where the hidden manna is.
Ask a true Christian and they will tell you that they have already become a new creation in Christ Jesus the Lord. They don't have to aspire to do anything. God is dwelling inside of them. They now live just for the pleasure of God Himself.><>

A lot of Christians think that just going to church is good enough. But once you develop a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus, you want what He wants. You do what He tells you to do. Some don't aspire to be like Christ, because they don't really know Christ. To know Him is to want to be like Him.

It is virtually impossible to be like Christ because free will always gets in the way, as Christians we don't fail to be like Christ, we simply try to follow his teachings the best we can, we live in a world that is violent dishonest and disrespectful mans inhumanity towards man, for most people on this earth life has become a survival not a pleasure, our social laws and regulations do not allow us to be like Christ. there are millions of people on this earth that are not happy being human and having to live here. where ever God is he must be shedding a lot of tears to see what has happened to his creation.

Who wouldn't aspire to be like Christ, a perfect, blameless person? (all the rest of this is about American Christians, since idk bout other countries Christians) We have everythig made for us here: Food, housing, medical expenses, comfort, money, etc. We don't (think we) need to rely on God for things and thus we wouldn't need a Savior. So if we don't need a Savior, then we wouldn't need to rely on Christ. We think that we made everything we have, so we needn't put faith in Christ. However, when people get serious aobut their faith and think "What if He really meant it?", what would that look like? People dont want to not trust in themselves; that's the only thing they beleve in. They don't want to trust someone else, especialyl someone they can't see! They have no faith. THey rely fully on themselves

Many people know Jesus' expression, "the truth shall set you free" at John 8:32. It is a pity though that they ignore the preceeding verse where Jesus says, "If you REMAIN in my word..." That's why they fail to aspire to be like Jesus because they want to do their own thing instead of following his example.

Why do the whole world worship WAR? Why did you have sex even though you are not married? Why do they have in every country, males that will rape females? Why do business cheat their customers. Why do credit institutions charge enormous rip off interests for credit? Why is that, in America, women and children are being held against their will and used as sex objects?
Good old, we are better than everyone else, males are buying and using these sex slaves.
What position do you hold that you can criticize the masses while your contribution is yet to be found/discovered/recognized/presented?

Because Jesus Christ is our Lord God, Savior, Brother, Hero, and Friend. He is the perfect human being. I know we can never be like him, but we do follow the works he made, and taught when he was here. Jesus Christ spoke the truth which people of todays time so blindly can't see.

Because religion is more about worship than taking action. Christians don't want to follow Christ, they want a master.

There are a number of reasons for this, but the main one is that we have taken our eyes off of Jesus and we are looking at what other people are doing. The second major reason is that we don't read and study our Bibles for ourselves, but we listen to what others and we believe the lies that they tell us. (Yes, ministers will ell you lies.) The third reason is that being like Christ isn't conveniet and requires personal saccrifices, and we like the life that we have. We sin because we enjoy it.
Jesus asked us to deny our selfish nature and to follow him, to do as he did, to resist temptation, and to obey the commandments of God.

Ouch! Awesome point.
To be like Jesus is to be totally surrendered to God's will even unto death. Void of all other worldly influence. WOW I would love to get there but I gots a long way to go. The world hates Jesus to the point that anything that sounds like him is attacked. We see a small sample of that here in Y A. Maybe that's why. I want to be like Jesus so bad but I fall way to short. Maybe some day.
GOD bless ya.
