For anyone with knowledge of the Pill, do you think that generic birth control pills don't work as well as regular birth control pills? I am currently on a generic version of the one that I used to be on, and i've had more cramps now then I ever did on the other one. Some people suggested I switch, but I don't think I can, as the generic is the only kind my student health center provides. I'm kind of paranoid now, that a generic will be riskier or not work as well as the regular non generic kind. lol I keep hearing my mom's voice in my head telling me "cheaper is not always better" and "you get what you pay for." Which, in your opinion, is the better pill...or are they both the same?

I would definately check with a dr. I thought that any generic medication was supposed to be equivalent to the brand name. Maybe that only applies to the actual function that it has...The only thing I could think of is maybe you have an allergy to some minor ingredient of that particular pill. I don't know if that's possible or makes any sense ... Good luck to you.

generic drugs are put out on the market so people can afford them. There are only few differences between these and the expensive name brands are essentially a "brand" of the same thing. You could always try other birth control methods.

Most of the time the only difference between the name brand and the generic is the shape for size difference of the actual pill.
The hormones are the same. Stress can cause your menstrual cycle to be off or different.

THats a hard choice. You may want to go with the cheaper one if you are on a budget crunch. But if they cramps are REALLY bad you may want to see a Dr. and see what they say.
