it kinda gives the signal for them to go and do whatever they are supposed to do.

It connects the brain to the rest of your body, otherwise you'd be a vegetable.
did you know that your brain doesn't have any sense recpetors on it, so if your skull were to crack open and you were awake, you wouldn't feel anything. And when you have headaches, your brain is not hurting, its your head itself.

The nervous system sends impulses to the various organs by feedback. The nervous system can tell the organ to speed up or slow down. It reacts to hormones.

It does much more than assist them... it is the enervating factor to make things work.. as well as allow you to feel, smell, hear,and see. Has a lot to do with the circulatory system too..Without it you wouldn't be able to digest your food. Lots more but too little space.
