I don't know about other parents... while I would have adored having a son or daughter, I am thrilled that I am not having to deal with a girl's emotional roller coaster. Sorry, but I know girls (I was one) - and I know how dramatic girls can be. My son is a cool customer.
I agree with the other guy who said it's probably half and half... in the USA, anyway. I think in some parts of the world boys are praised and desired far more than girls.
If I had two kids - a boy and a girl - I would love them both with all my heart. I have ONE child - a son. I didn't think you were asking if parents should play favorites. I think some people misunderstood your question.

no becuz i am a boy and i have a sister and to me i think parents prefer girls because my parents never treat me like they treat my sister. My dad barely talks to me

Esp in CHina where there is a one child policy and tradition of preferring boys (because they carry on family name).

Good parents do not have favorites. Unfortunately some parents do favor their boy children.

yes, because the parents dont have to do the boy hair, and the boy could do more around the house.

The popular belief is you are not a true man until you have had both.
I being male would be more comfortable having boys as I would know how to handle them better. I would be to soft on a girl and of course worry myself sick anytime she left my sight.

I would say that I love them equally,they are all my children. it is no reason for me to love boys than girls. Sometime boys are naughty than girls,That made me need a little more time to teach them which is right. when they grow up, it is only their choice to do what they like to do.
