As fall aproaches and as the temperature drops, when does the soil freeze?

when the moisture in the soil reaches 32 degrees F or 0 degrees C- regardless of the air temperature. There's no magic date- it varies depending on where you are- sooner in colder areas, etc.

Depends on where you are. In northern Maine, they are no doubt already experiencing frozen soil ,at night at least. Where I am in New England though, it hasn't been cold enough yet for that. We haven't yet had a frost either. Here the soil won't freeze until sometime in November probably.

when the temperature drops to30 degrees or lower, the longer it stay there the deeper the ground will freeze,i also belive that the dirt is not freezing,but the moisture that is in the dirt
