At 18 unless he is your teacher it should not matter. You are both adults and that is what counts in our society. I dated a lot of 18 & 19 yo girls at that age. Never had a problem not even with parents.
For crying out loud call him and ask him out before someone else does.

I think your question is silly. If you are old enough to know your mind and his character well, then you decide. Life is about decisions and those you have to make on you own, not by the advice of others. People will tell you anything without any reasoning or even logic. Age is not a factor, but his character is. If you really believe in his fidelity and potential ability to care for you, then it is your choice. Read some of the questions here...my b/f is cheating on me, my b/f beats me, my b/f has no time for me now, etc. Stand up for yourself.

Date him when you will calculate correctly : 89+7+=96 not 106. Go back to primary school and then go out with him.
