This morning as I was heading to work I heard a Muslim cermon in the radio and the preacher was saying that Neil Armstrong converted to Islam while on the moon cause he heard the sound of the muslim prayer on the moon... Is this true ?

yes. he heard the azan (calling for prayer) on the moon. when he land on earth he heard it again and relised that the azan he heard on the moon. cant deny that islam is a true religion.
