We certainly can. Despite the horrendous loss they're facing they still forgave the man who murdered and had plan to sexually assault their daughters. That's huge.
We also can learn that ' things' aren't important and that really loving your neighbour should be what we all do. Governments and other religions and society itself should take lessons from the Amish.

I respect people who are truly faithful, no matter what denomination. They forgave with dignity and did not compromise their beliefs in the face of public scrutiny.
