They are just fine !

I have eggs well over a month past their "use by" date but kept in the frig.

When traveling in Europe I found some Scandinavian countries do not even store them in the frig. They just sit right in the middle of the aisle for aisle, no refrigeration. I now worry ALOT less about eggs, since no one there is dropping dead due the eggs sitting out for weeks.

Not a problem, dearie. I've used eggs up to 5-6 weeks past their date, though I always recommend cracking them individually into a bowl and checking ech one. The use-by date is pretty much a suggestion, in this case of a product safely still in its shell.

Eggs are good for about 6 months. After that they begin to lose nutritional value, but the ones you have from Sept 26 should be fine.

I say it should be fine. Your sister would have noticed they were bad as soon as she cracked one open. Rotten eggs really stink!
