i use a potato peeler, it get real close and clean cut

I also cut the pears in half, then using a melon baller, I scoop out the middle going upwards taking out that center stem out at the same time. I then use a carrot peeler and peel the skin. You could just use the carrot/potato peeler without cutting the pear in half, but it easier to have half a pear than a whole one when peeling. WOW...say all of this fast five times!

First I pull off the stem, then use small paring knive to peel. I then cut pear in half and with same knife take the core out of each half. Put in bowl with little water and lemon juice so they don't turn brown. You can quarter them too, but I can mine in the halves.

Actually you pare pears. Peeling is for bananas and citrus fruit because you can use your bare fingers. Using a paring knife, start cutting at the stem end. Don't cut too deep, you'll waste yummy pear.

peeler or knife..
if you cut them in slices first and then peel it would probabley bbe easy.
