Is it good to drink?

Actually no. Artificial sweeteners aren't good for you. If you read the labels on artificial sweetener containers, they tell you that they should only be used by people that have to restrict their sugar intake which is a round about way of saying that they shouldn't be used by healthy people without scaring you away.

It's like going to McDonald's web site to look up about calories. They give their calories in "serving size" but they carefully avoid saying what a serving size is letting you assume for example that a 32 ounce shake is one serving so you see the 1150 calories in one serving of Artic Orange, but one serving is 888 milligrams which does not equal 32 ounces which means a large Artic Orange is actually over 1300 calories. Sneaky, huh?

Things to Avoid

Do not eat after 6 p.m.
Do the best you can on this, however, the good news is you can virtually eat like a pig all day long, and if you stop eating after six you will still lose weight!

Absolutely NO aspartame or any artifical sweeteners
Aspartame, which goes by the name NutraSweet, will make you fat. All other artificial sweeteners including saccharin, Splenda, or anything else, should be avoided. If you want the full story read two books, Aspartame: Is it Safe? And Excitotoxins: The Taste that Kills.

Absolutely NO Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
MSG is an excitotoxin. It makes you fat, causes all kinds of medical problems, and can affect your mood making you depressed. It also can be physically addicting, like Aspartame, and actually make you hungrier. It is an excitotoxin. Read the labels of the food you eat. Unfortunately, the food industry has lobbied Congress to pass laws allowing monosodium glutamate to be put in the food and not be listed on the label. There are dozens of words that can be on the label such as spices, artificial flavoring, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, etc. that are in fact MSG in disguise. This is why buying organic food where everything listed in the ingredient list is something you recognize and can pronounce. Also, MSG is in virtually all fast food, including things you would never imagine such as pizza. This is why people in foreign countries eat all kinds of food and never get fat. It’s not so much the food, but the ingredients used in American food processing.

Absolutely NO diet sodas or diet food
Diet sodas have been called the “new crack” because they appear to be so physically addicting. They actually make you fat. The reason they are promoted so heavily is because people become physically addicted to them and they are cheaper to make than regular sodas. I did an interesting experiment with people who drank diet sodas on a regular basis. For two weeks they replaced their diet soda with regular high-calorie sugar sweetened soda. Amazingly, no one gained any weight. Even more shocking was 80 percent of the people actually lost weight. One person lost seven pounds! This was stunning to me. Diet foods fall into the same category. Do not eat anything that is being presented as a diet food. They are loaded with ingredients that will actually make you fatter, and make you physically addicted.

The weight gain can be caused by all the sodium you are in taking. If you stop the sodas and drink more water you probably won't gain so much. As far as drinking diet sodas, Anything that contains aspartame in it is not good for you. I have seen people suffer from memory loss and even Bel's-palsy. That is when the whole side of one side of your body suffers from being paralyzed, your side of the mouth will droop, but this isn't permanent.

Probably not but neither is the water. You are getting to the age where metabolism slows and it gets harder to control weight. Rapid weight gain and swelling can be the signs of serious illness so if you have this you should see a doctor right away. I have found that controlling carbs (sugar) works best along with moderate exercise like walking or the stationary bike. You might want to consider picking up the exercise a bit, cut some carbs and back off the salt.

Diet soda is probably not what's causing you to gain weight. What do you eat when you are drinking your diet soda? If you want to lose weight, then cut out all soda, diet or not, from your diet and start to drink more water.

Stop drinking the soda. It is full of calories and chemicals. Diet soda is even worse. It only has the chemicals, but many more, and in a higher quantity. Try to drink the flavored water, or just water. It helps your skin, every system in your body (unrinary, respitory, etc), and your brain function better. Seriously, soda is bad for you. Especially diet.

Diet soda tastes good, but the chemicals used in some of them are not good at all for you. I have heard that formaldehyde, (used to preserve the body after death) is one of the chemicals, but under a different name. I also have heard if you can't pronounce the ingriediants in something you eat or drink, dont eat or drink it. It depends on how paranoid you are about soda. It is your choice.

I used to drink a lot of diet soda and the strange thing is that the more I drank the hungrier i got so I stopped drinking it. The sweeteners that they use in the soda stimulates the "hunger pangs" in your brain and you think that you are constantly hungry.

is this a trick question? of course not. no soda is. the carbonation alone ruins the structure of your bones. eats at your calcium and sticks to your liver. soda is very unhealthy. as bad as beer. most diet sodas also have the ingredient - aspartame and or sacchrin. those have been proven a high health risk. soda is nothing but 'air' and it takes a very long time for your body to release the carbonation...watch what you eat and watch what you drink. subscribe to health digest magazine. they have tons of wonderful information for you.
