My wife and I met on the internet over 8-years ago and we have been happily married for 6-years now. We lived thousands of miles apart when we first met.

Nope. Not me. Well hopefully they've been corresponding for yrs & not just for a few mos... I have a net friend who said he was gonna come up here & visit me. Now I'm not so sure I want him to come & visit me :$ I don't wanna tell him tho. Ask your friend how much she trusts him & how long they've been "chatting" if you don't already know. Have they ever MET ? I'm sure they've seen each other's pics... I don't think that you can change her mind, so all you can do is to hope for the best.

I know this feeling. Sometimes people click on a link that takes them thousands of miles from where they intended to be.

My brother met his wife over the Internet. They lived in different states at the time.

same.. got a friend doing that exact thing... and they've met only like twice and they're getting married...
I personally think they should meet up more often as both of them would not know each other's traits, habits (bad or good) and personalities, temper, likes, dislikes etc...
but oh well.. i wish my friend.. and your friend as well and all those who are going through this the best of luck...

As long as it was one of the legitimate matchmaking sites, it should be okay. But if it was some random chat room or *gasp* Yahoo! Answers, I'd be worried.
