If your mother was a Christian, she went immediately to heaven, where Jesus reigns and where He is currently located.
John 11:25 "I am the resurrection and the life. He that believes in Me, though he were dead, shall live. And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die."
When we die, our bodies lie in the ground, from whence they came, but our spirits go immediately into the presence of Jesus.
May these words provide comfort for you.

The question of what happens after death can be confusing. The Bible is not explicitly clear on when a person will reach their final eternal destiny. The Bible tells us that after the moment of death, a person is taken to Heaven or Hell based on whether he or she had received Christ as his or her Savior. For believers, after death is to be "away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23). For unbelievers, after death means everlasting punishment in Hell (Luke 16:22-23).
This is where it can get confusing as to what happens after death. Revelation 20:11-15 describes all those in Hell being cast into the lake of fire. Revelation chapters 21-22 describe a New Heaven and New Earth. Therefore, it seems that until the final resurrection, after death a person resides in a “temporary” Heaven and Hell. A person's eternal destiny will not change, but the precise "location" of a person's eternal destiny will change. At some point after death, believers will be sent to the New Heavens and New Earth (Revelation 21:1). At some point after death, unbelievers will be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people - based entirely on whether a person had trusted Jesus Christ alone for the salvation of their sins.

After Solomon observed that the living know that they will die, he wrote: “As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” He then enlarged on that basic truth by saying that the dead can neither love nor hate and that “there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in [the grave].” (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10)
Similarly, Psalm 146:4 says that when a man dies, “his thoughts do perish.” We are mortal and do not survive the death of our body. The life we enjoy is like the flame of a candle. When the flame is put out, it does not go anywhere. It is simply gone.
Jesus Christ spoke about the condition of the dead. He did so with regard to Lazarus, a man whom he knew well and who had died. Jesus told his disciples: “Lazarus our friend has gone to rest.” The disciples thought that Jesus meant that Lazarus was resting in sleep, recovering from an illness. They were wrong. Jesus explained: “Lazarus has died.” (John 11:11-14) Notice that Jesus compared death to rest and sleep. Lazarus was neither in heaven nor in a burning hell. He was not meeting angels or ancestors. Lazarus was not being reborn as another human. He was at rest in death, as though in a deep sleep without dreams. Other scriptures also compare death to sleep. For example, when the disciple Stephen was stoned to death, the Bible says that he “fell asleep.” (Acts 7:60) Similarly, the apostle Paul wrote about some in his day who had “fallen asleep” in death.—1 Corinthians 15:6.

Paul said that to be absent from the body (death) is to be present with the Lord. That means that the saved go directly to where Jesus is when they die. He also said that at the rapture-the dead in Christ shall rise first. So-then your body stays in the grave and decays. Your soul/spirit separates from the body at death and goes to heaven. The resurrected body catches up with the spirit at the rapture. I don't know why????-that's what the Bible says.

In Mathew 22 after being asked whose wife a woman would be in Heaven if she had several husbands, he says the following -
Matthew 22: 29, 32 Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. But about the resurrection of the dead--have you not read what God said to you, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."
That suggests being with God in spirit in an entirely different type of relationship.

You mom is sleeping and she will resurrect in triumph when Jesus returns. In this sense the Bible holds a positive view of death as it is a well deserved rest. Those who hope holds fast to Jesus' victory over death sleep in peace.

Your body goes into the earth and your soul and spirit go to be with Jesus until He comes back for the resurrection.
Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Nobody is aware of! What we do realize is all our organic services quit, so thus we haven't any reminiscence or notion of some thing that occurred earlier than we died anymore than a leaf is aware of from which tree it fell. There are many interpretations of what occurs to any residual life, what a few religions name a soul or spirit, and it isn't exotic to make use of metaphors like "sleep" to explain the situation. There isn't any consensus among religions, or even inside Christian sects there are lots of extraordinary interpretations. It relatively is what your religion leads you to consider that represents the great wager at what occurs.

Well if you were good in life you should go to heaven it's not just if you belive in christ you have to follow the 10 commandments. I mean Just cause you believe in Christ dosn't mean you go straight to Heaven. You have to follow the rules it's. If you don't follow the 10 commandments you could end up in Hell. Or purgatory
