I knew quite a bit of them, and they were really great people. Didnt try to force me to convert or anything. And they have reasons for everything they do.

In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (Wikipedia).

The ones that I have met seem to be more tolerant of other mainstream religions than mainstream ones are of them. They are open to debate, discussing, ideas etc. and perfectly willing to be honest & open about their beliefs.

So many people are missing a good opportunity for a great discussion when they don't open their door to them as seems to be generally the case. I'm not a Jehovah Witness either however I do have great admiration & respect for them and in my opinion some of the more mainstream religions could learn a bit more about tolerance by listening to them.

The only reason people think they are a cult is because people don't know much about them it's the same with Adventist by the way there teachings are very different.Jehovah Witnesses teach that only 144 thousand people will get into heaven the rest will inherit the earth.Adventist teach exactly what the Bible says! No offense to Jehovah witnesses ,God bless

I don't really see the point in distinguishing between a religion and a cult. Certainly I wouldn't call them a cult by any definition that didn't include all religion.

Poor ST JOHN above has no clue what a cult is, not to mention that what he says Jehovah's Witnesses believe in is so far from the truth it isn't funny. If you want to know something about God, would you ask Satan? Of course not. So instead of asking non-witnesses if Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult, direct your queries to Jehovah's Witnesses.

Cult and not a cult is based from what side your point of view is, may be they say Christian is cult :), personally I would prefer to think them the people that believe in something different to mine. Branding people cult is like calling Christian "infidel", Is Christian infidel? I don’t think so, as I dont want to be called infidel

Outwardly of course they do not appear like a 'cult'. However, some of their beliefs, their idea of god, their history as also their strategies sometimes do make you uncomfortable. Thus, the relative of one of my acquaintances had joined JWs but abansoned as a conseuence of something they told him(which he would not reveal) and what did the JWs do they forbade the family members ever to talk to him. This is not normal culture but almost a cult.

There's really no difference between a cult and a religion.

They do not accept Jesus as God-as the Bible says. They do not believe that Jesus was crucified for the sins of the world. They do not believe that Jesus rose from the dead. This makes them a pseudo-Christian cult.
This is not what I think-this is what they believe.
