Becoming like Christ is a long, slow process of growth.

Your spiritual transformation in developing the character of Jesus will take the rest of your life, and even then it won't be completed here on earth. It will only be finished when you get to heaven or when Jesus returns.

What do you think about this..... can we eventually be like Jesus? or what's your perspectives on this?

Here's my perspective: (taken from a Bible study excerpt)

When I join His family through faith, what change does Jesus make in my life?

Jesus' power changes a repulsive sinner into a loving saint.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Answer: As Christ is received into my heart, He destroys the old sinful self and actually changes me into a new spiritual creation. The old life of sin now becomes repulsive and undesirable. Joyfully I begin to experience, for the first time, glorious freedom from guilt and condemnation. I begin to see how empty my life has been without Christ. Rather than feeding on husks under the table, I now feast at the banquet of the King. One minute with God provides more happiness than does a lifetime of serving the devil. What an exchange! Why did I wait so long to accept it?

Our Creator "rested" on the 7th day.
CREATION is a continuing process. The Creator sends out
power constantly to keep things alive.
Some spirits are old souls. Some are young ones, wanting to
experience this reality.
I think evil was a process of degeneration. As the Lifeforce
spread from one dimension to the other, it naturally
got weaker, allowing corruption in.
What if the trith is that humans are just part of Creation,
and it's just a fact a spirit, or being from the Lifeforce, has to live in a human to keep it alive. Like any living thing. Though humans
have a higher intelligence.
To answer your question. The spirit that lived as Jesus
Christ called Himself the Morning Star. And he said He would
give US the Morning Star.
We do have the potential to reach the Highest reality.

Absolutely not. Do you believe we are created to become like Santa Claus? Same thing, being created to be come like a fictional character in a story.

Many Eastern Orthodox theologians have taken that approach.

I believe we were created TO LEARN TO CHOOSE to be like Christ. He wants us to prove to Him that we trust our Heavenly Father, and that we consciously commit sin no more ~ exactly like Christ. So yes I do think so.
Jesus is our role model, our light, our shepherd.

Eventually we'll be dead like him. Happily, I've already lived longer than he did.
