Is using the cold setting better compared to hot? If so, how so? My hair dryer only has hot, so i'm wondering if I should buy a new one with a cold setting!

I have a hair dryer that has hot, warm and cold. The only time I use the cold is when I feel hot while drying my hair , I switch it to cold and blow it in my face just to cool of. So to me it's not that important to have.

hot air is better for drying, but a cold shot button will "set" your hair, like if you're blowing it straight, finish with a blast of cold to help it stay that way.

Ccold setting is after it's dry you use cold to set it and cold water and air make hair shine more.

I don't think its better. I read in a magazine once that you are supposed to dry with the hotter settings and then before you finish blow drying you are supposed to use the cool setting to finish up. I really don't know why.
