I hear people often say the adventists are an outragous cult because they don't believe in what common folks call the soul, hell, heaven, and so on.

what the heck are common folks???, and who are you calling Adventists??? .....everything has a spirit, even you....but to answer your question .........a cult is a group of people subjected to one common idea.........)O(

By definition a cult is a group that isolates. They will draw a person in, then cut them off from friends and family and make certain they only talk to other cult members.

Usually it's because the cult's belief system is very weak and this person would immediately see the light of day with a little tiny outward assistance.

That is just it, if someone doesn't recognize something as a religion you know the big 3-4-5 then it is referred to as a cult, occult or pagan. When they think of you in this way you are also considered Atheist even though that doesn't make any sense. These ppl don't have religious tolerance and don't know how to use a dictionary.

it's a group that has strange religion and the members do strange practices like worship things or do sacrifices.
