If one of these persons has the tumor in the thoracic cavity and the other in the abdominopelvic cavity, which would be likely to develop systems first?

develop systems? if they are benign but growing their effects on the body will depend on which grows faster, how it grows and what each is closer too. Some tumors grow in mass outward, others grow and form stone like structures, while others spiderweb outward. Which ever reaches something important first will cause the most effect, but a doctor will remove them (hopefully) before that happens. Treatment should begin immediately.

it depends pretty much on the exact site
however the thoracic cavity is smaller and let us say the tumor size is fixed in both cases sooo
tumor in thoracic cavity might develop symptoms first
however a tumor compressing on bladder or abdomenal aorta
might show symptoms first
it is a matter of relativity and depend on several variables
