Please, tell me how you would convince someone with no concept of any religion that your particular religion is the one they should choose.
What would you say to this person?
In your own words please, that's far more convincing than scripture.
Thank you.

it isnt something that i would wish to do ..
i dont want to convince people that my religion is the one they should choose
if they are curious about it ... by all means i will inform them xxx
i will share with you then and thank you for the opportunity
for many years i have been studying mediumship , passing messages to people who have lost loved ones
giving them hope that death is not the end
these messages are detailed with descriptions and personal information that i would have no way of knowing
sometimes even the people that i tell have to ask another family member to confirm it
the messages are filled with love and despite what many believe , cannot be anything but from a good source
in my journey through mediumship , i attended a spiritualist church ( not too long ago )
only to find that these people were doing what i have been doing for years
i felt at home xx

If I were you I'd stay away from organized religion and choose a spiritual guide. I have a friend that is always there when I need Him. Shows me a new truth nearly every day. He gave me gifts when I was capable of accepting them. Inspired the writting of a great rule and guidance book for those times when I really do not want to be quiet and listen, so I can get what I need from the written page. He is very lenient about my exact beliefs and even more so with some of His other friends. Often If you hear two of them discribe Him you would swear they were talking about two completely different friends but He loves them and blesses them anyway.
Instead of a religion I would suggest you meet my friend and tell Him all the pain in your heart and that you desire to do good things and would appreciate, His help, and needless to say that you want to be friends with Him.
Unfortunately there is no free trial period cuz unlike many spouses when He makes a promise He keeps it, so when you say lets be friends and He knows you are serious then He becomes your friend through thick and thin and if you forget Him for a while and then remember the good times and come back He will show you He has always been there and that will make you feel like crying but it will be a good cry and you will feel great afterwards cuz you will know total acceptance, understand approval like you never did b4 and you'll want to follow that example with your kidz but alass you will fail but what I know is it is not so important on any one part of the path exactly the direction you takes as long as the path gets a little closer to my friend than the minute b4. Now you got me crying,,,guess who??
THANK YOU I NEEDED THAT TODAY, LITTLE DANCE OF APPRECIATION

My religion is home for me.
I know what unconditional love feels like.
Personally I don’t think conversion is simply an intellectual acceptance of a given series of beliefs. I really view it more as a calling and it is not something one can force. Most people who just pick a religion out of a hat don’t stick with it. It becomes something they do rather then something they are.
Why are some called and some not? Beats the hell out of me.
If you are searching I’d suggest spending some time in silent meditation. Just listen. Practice listening for a couple of weeks. Make the time special, lighting a candle is a technique many folks use.
Then start picking up books by various religious authors. See what resonates. But, keep up your practice of listening. If there is one spiritual discipline that will serve you well it is the practice of silence and listening.

It seems most of us here take the middle road, whereby we do not like a religion to be thrust up Spooky's nose. Personally, religion does not approach you, you are the one who approaches it and examine it. I - nor others - can tell you why this religion or that is more suitable for you, because that might contradict your personal beliefs and may even mislead you.
This is a journey you must undertake by yourself, with little help from others. Take this journey and get a script, and if you are happy with the script, use it as your lifetime guide.
A life without script is free, but a life with a script has a better purpose and aim.

That about covers it. recommendations concerning why is there some thing truly of no longer some thing are extremely worth tackling. The pity is our mind's eye and techniques concering that deep difficulty are pathetically lame. The universe has shown itself no longer only to be unusual and absurd, yet is it really is significantly better extraordinary and absurd than we can imagine. So truly we get a deity liable to jealously, genocide, and hissy matches. Gee, feels like quite a few asshole I"ve ever had the misfortune to change into acuainted with.

no one on earth can live without believing that there is a God. Even pagans when they face danger they ask God to save them.
Some people worship rats ,cows, trees, stones, the sun or the moon. Some believe that a man is God etc. God who created us created this feeling in us and didn`t leave us miss the right path. So he sent messengers "prophets" to guide us and show us the right way. For that He, almighty , gave each prophet a miracle so that the people know that he is telling the truth. The last prophet that God sent was Mohammed with so many miracles. The main one is the Holly Qura`an. No one on earth can change a letter from it because God says in it that He will save it until the day of doom and challenges human beings and devils to bring or edit a verse like it . Qura`an has all the instructions that God wants us to do and tells us how to worship Him . In it God tells us all the important facts of other religions esp. Christianity old and new testament because Jesus and Moses came with heaven books and were prophets before Mohammed. God has put in Qura`an many scientific facts about earth , human beings , space etc...
so that people in each age discover these facts and become true believers . In this age that we live in now it is the age of space discoveries . All the scientific facts known today is written in the Qura`an and that was before more than 1430 years ago . Many famous scientists became muslims when they knew this . If you keep to repeat reading any book it is for sure that you get bored but if you keep reading the Qura`an for thousands times you will never fed up but you `ll feel happiness that you`ll never find in any thing in this life . People of all nationalities , of all levels of education and of all ages read the Qura`an and feel this happiness as if it talks to each one separately . So you can read the Qura`an or a translation of its meanings and don`t believe any one except your mind and feelings.

Religion is created by people - systematized belief - and is therefore fallible. I would approach is from the conceptual "Higher Power." Do you believe there is a creator of all things? I often use a cause and effect argument, e.g. You were caused by your parents, your parents were caused by their parents, etc (or any other object or things in the universe). The crux of the causal argument is at some point as you back down to the main cause, you might ask "well, who created God?" The answer is, necessarily, no one did. God, or whatever you want to call it, has to be uncaused (i.e. eternal). God cant create God, God HAS to exist on his own. If you belief in this higher power, and eternal life force, you can wrap your own religion around it.

I am Deist and if someone asks me about it I am happy to explain the concept, but sorry, I could never be a recruiter. I have always rejected other's appeals to tell me what to believe. I came to my own beliefs through a long personal process in which I used my own brain and a lot of research to make those decisions. The thought of trying to convince someone else to believe as I do is appalling to me.

Honesty, you can't. If you live an upright life, maybe you could convince someone that your faith changed you. But if you are living a hypocritical, don't speak. You will only misrepresent that in which you believe. Yes if you know the truth, you should lead them in that direction even if you are wrong. However, you must let them know that you are not in complete submission of your own beliefs. If you cannot do this, then don't open your mouth. Just try to explain why you believe in what you believe in.
You should provide pure, raw, hard evidence of why your faith is real. After all it is someone's life that you are dealing with, not just religion. Now if you have any doubts about what it is that you confess as your religion, then don't pass along. You keep it. There is no need of selling a product that you don't buy yourself!
So many of us believe in a religion that have no clue about. We don't know of its origin, or the truth behind the prophets. All we know is what we have been sold. Most of us got our religious traditions and faith from our parents or someone that we know. But when you ask them real questions about who created the bible, no one wants to talk about that. If you ask about the Koran, which is a beautiful book, they will only talk about Prophet Muhummad(pbuh). If you talk about the Talmud, you will only here about them(allegedly) being in God's favor. But they never talk about falling out of God's favor. Let's say that you try talking to christian about Christianity and you mention that even Jesus(Esau)(pbuh) didn't even know anything about it, they will call you a muslim. Why, just because this is not mentioned in the bible and its pointed out I have to be a muslim or a hypocrite. Why can't we all just search for the truth, unsubstantiated truth. Let's go back to before the confusion of titles and brand-names. Let's really go back to "ole tyme religion." If we don't we will be lost forever and contiously leading people astray. There was once a time when we could talk directly to God. There was a time in existence when man was created to be God's themselves. And because of labels and mis-education of truth, we are so lost. Now before you criticize me think about this, if all religions claim that they are the one true faith, how come there is death and killing, racism, judgement, fornication, homosexuality, adultery, envy and LIES, all in the name of the God they serve!
We need one nation under GOD. Not Religion. GOD! We need to search for this, until we find it let us not lead anyone else into falsehoods. Maybe then we will truly get back to God.

I am in the same position as you , and because you are using you're mind, and logic, I don't think you could be convinced. Because you recognize that there are more than one religion out there, (and people believe so strongly in each one) also says you would be a hard sell!
I think people believe because there parents taught them as childeren, and there was nothing else. Or they had a very traumatic experience and the only way to get out of it was to believe someone was there for them helping them.

Its not about you convincing them. Its about them convincing themselves; after all its them who make the ultimate decision.But.....I think you should be a good example; actions speak louder than words right? Follow your own principles as best you can and acknowledge when you mess up. Scriptures sometimes dont provide any help in this process if they are taken out of context, so they need to b e informed. Lastly, you need to let them SEE the beauty of your religion; bring them to the church, the mosque, the synagogue etc. Let them BE a member for a day and yes...use the scripture. If your scripture is the truth and the word of God it should be convincing; after all; in the end its GOD who guides whom He wills. Dont push it. Be gentle and maybe with the help of God, just maybe they'll "see the light". Maybe read the Quran someday, i think it makes alot of sense as an American myself, u just have to look past the misconceptions and out of context exerpts. Peace. God bless.
