I don't like religion because people get hold of them and add all kinds of things to them. Then somebody who doesn't like that particular one decides to make their own. I really prefer faith. People have done soooo many terrible things in the name of 'religion'. (Just look at the Pharisees and religious leaders in the time of Jesus. He came offering salvation for all who believe and they said 'believe?! we have our religion . . we don't need faith!' and killed him. Am I ever glad God used took what they meant for evil and used it for good)

A lot of people do talk about religion in a terrible, intolerant, disrespectful way, but a lot more do it out of genuine love and concern. Many (maybe even most) religions, if taken orthodoxically without the recent relativist movement, believe that they are the one way to salvation and that they are commisioned by God to convert. If you are not converted, you will go to to hell sort of thing.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Judges 10:13 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

The Christian belief is that we are not allowed anyother Gods and this is what the war of Religion is all about. For us there is only One God who divine in three personality's the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

I don't mind who people believe in. I'm a firm believer in freedom of religion. That said, I do have a problem with religion interfering with politics, with the oppression of science that comes with religion and with the teaching of religion to children who aren't mature enough to make an informed decision about it.
So you can believe in whomever you choose, just keep it to yourself.

You can believe in what ever you choose.

The moment you push your beliefs on others then your religion becomes fair game for criticism.

Why is it that atheist never critisize buddhism, hinduism, paganism, etc.?

Because followers of these religions aren't out to change the laws and traditions of our home lands!

Because they are either hypocrites or dying for affection. Any hate towards religion stems from the core of people's own self being.

Because thanks to your religion there are people who are politically affected through things like stem cell, prayers in school (obligating people to believe in a Deity), factual science being discredited and replaced by non-science, inability to hold office, discriminated, insulted, murdered, and many other things. People's religion, just like any other belief (politics, morality, etc), should be open to criticism and debated.

Because WhyNotAskDoNut wants you to believe in him

CPT wants you to believe in him

Tofu Jesus wants you to believe in him

Muslims want you to stop believing Jesus is God and believe in Allah

Atheists want to top you from your comic book life of praying to Space Daddy.

The ONLY ones not getting on here and telling you what to believe in and how to live are the Amish.

I guess it has something to do with free speech... anyone who doesn't like a certain religion has that right, but people should be able to respectfully discuss their views and agree to disagree.
