It is plugged into a working outlet. TV is probably 10-12 years old. Not a sound when trying to turn it on. Remote has new batteries and power button on tv does nothing.

Yeah flashing red lights are a trouble code. Like your cars check engine light they can only be decyphered by a tech. Repairs could be cheap or expensive.

Hate to say it but yeah its probably time for a new one.

It sounds to me since your set won't come on by remote or by the power button on the set that your tv may have to be reset by unplugging it and then replugging it back in, or it is time to get a new set because it is dead.

I beleive the red flash on toshiba's is the self destructive mode but not sure .
