This is assuming you are eating right and are healthy. I'm 20 and run the mile at 7:35. I have a screening test coming up that requires me to keep that pace and run a total of 1.5 miles. I already struggle very hard to run the mile at 7:35, and haven't attempted a longer distance. I pretty much go to a point where I can't think straight anymore, but I'm sure I can push myself to keep running. I just want to know if there's any dangers of doing that, or if it's normal to have to push yourself that hard. Thanks.

You just have to practice runnig a little longer distance to develope stamina. If you push yourself your throat will hurt. So just try to keep up that good pace and then push yourself if you thingk you can. Good Luck!

In general you cannot cross the line marked by your heart. You can only get to 200-YourAge heart beats per minute. In your case you shouldn't force your heart at more than 180, unless you are very well trained and under medical supervision. You should buy a watch that tells you the Heart Rate and wear it when you run.

sounds like youre not taking in enough energy for the run. but to improve your run. do half mile runs all out. then jog to for a half mile then another half all out. I do this with my practice for my runs. helped me improve a whole lot. Or you can always find a good hill to run. when i run i think crazy it just a reaction your body is having to the chemical release you get to calm the pain of running.

You really need to get checked out by a physician before pushing yourself harder than you should. A lot of people tend to have heart problems without even knowing.

My advice is to get a complete medical checkup before going out and wearing yourself out.

Unless you have a specific health issue, its probably fine.

Not easy, and not fun, but fine. =P

If you dont breathe correctly, you may hyperventilate and pass out.

If you dont pass out, you might vomit just becasue you will put a lot of strain on your stomach muscles, which will in turn put pressure on your stomach, but you will live.

Check with your doctor, I think if you feel like something is wrong in your body or feel you can only go so far than that point is enough.
