Aren't we pushing our kids too fast to become little adults with sexy clothing, their own cell phones and laptops?

Hi, i am a "kid" actually i am a teen. but still only 2 weeks older than being 12! Ok my mom doesn't push me to get a cellphone, or a laptop or anything like that. She wont let me! If i had my own choice i would already have a cell phone, i already have a laptop though. and by the clothing wise an all. I don't like showing my body because thats how girls get raped and stuff. so don't push ur girls about that! Hope this helps!

I agree with you 100 percent! I never got allowance growing up... I had to buy my OWN cell phone when I was 18 and pay the bill myself from the money I got paid at my job, my parents never bought me a car - I had to buy that myself with my own money. I didn't play video games all day as a kid - I actually went outside (do kids these days even know what "outside" is?) and played games like "school" and "lost kids" with my siblings. I might sound old... but guess what... I'm only 20... so I'm not that old. I see too many little children that are glued to the television these days instead of playing and ENJOYING their childhood!

Zelda its a sign of the times
You say are we pushing them to fast .I cant keep up with them
I want an Ipod nano mine is just a shuffle .my cell phone doesn't connect to the Internet Cant I have that shirt this one isn't Billabong and its just so yesterday .
The preteens today are as advanced as some 19 year olds were in the 1970s Via the Internet they know all about sex and love they see what is happening in the world at a touch of a button or click of the mouse
They are growing to fast and that is a worry because they don't see the happy times they are to busy concentrating on their style and friends
My kids both play organized sports just to get them out of their clicks

about clothing, you can dress up a 2yr old with a cute sexy clothes but as they grow up, they pick their own dress, and it's not what she used to wear when she was 2 or 3 or 4. About cellphone, when kids go to middle school, parents let them have their cellphone for an easy access and for emergency reasons.

It's all about yielding to the pressures of society instead of trusting one's own personal choices. Too many people are following the images of those they see in the media and in the magazines. It's really nice to know that there's someone who actually sees the true picture clearly because you are right on target.

Unfortunately, in today's society there are babies and adults with no childhood in between.

I think being a kid is fun, even if I am 65 years old and have to play with kids my own age
