I think its a very smart idea to speak Portuguese & English so one can read news both in the States and in Brazil. The investigation is still open. Perhaps the transponder on the Legacy was disconnected, perhaps not. Both planes shouldn't have been on the same air highway, thats the first mistake. The second is that the region of Matto Grosso where they crashed is virtually a Bermuda's Triangle when it comes to communication.

It's a very sad event... And the small plane that collided with the 737 was an American pilot. Apparently the ATC told him to take a route, but no, he didn't listen...

And that's how the two planes crashed :(

There is no point in making assumptions without the facts. the investigation is ongoing and the actual cause will be produced eventually. The press love to speculate and are always looking for blood. The Brazilian Accident investigation authority are excellent, and the reasons will be known in good time, so at this point all we can do is pray for the victims families and thank god our families were not on board

Unfortunately, the american pilot was wrong. Probably he was testing the jet and rape the air traffic rules. Perhaps he will be imprisoned in Brasil. I think!

All of the information has not been collected, so I think it is a little early to pass blame for the accident. The operator of the private jet has one of the best safety records in the industry and the two pilots managed to save the lives of those on board their plane.

It's very tragic. And I find it pretty sickening that the pilot of the other plane, who's from here in the States, did something absolutely foolhardy and should have his license revoked and his butt in jail!

Most American pilots don't pull that crap. Especially airline pilots!

It's mind boggling ... It makes me want to start driving ... It's also sad that someone wouldn't take all those lifes into consideration when acting and not listening to the people who are suppose to be there to advise the know it all.

stupid pilot error probably, according to your heading, you fly at even number of feet and the other, odd numbers and etc. there should have a been a cushion of 50 feet.or more and commercial airliners have anti-collision avoidance radar,it will be interesting to see how they rule this.
