Only if you can afford to get them done professionally and afford to maintain them. For highlights and a cut my stylist charges 165 and that is every 3 or 4 months. They look great so if you can, go for it.

It's your call. If you do decide have it done professionally. I tried
L'Oreal's two step color with highlighting and have been paying dearly for it. That was over a year ago. It ruined the texture of my hair and it's been falling out a lot. I never had a problem just with their permanent coloring stuff but this may have been too intense!

Again, it's totally something you need to decide. It does look nice with brown hair.

Sure--I like highlights in my hair (I have black hair, and I put in auburn red, cherry red, and hot-pink highlights before. Though I don't have any right now.)

I did my highlights myself, but I've colored my hair a buuuuuuncha times. You might want to get them done professionally--they don't look as bad when they grow out as all-over hair color, so you can skip a few weeks between highlights. Of course, if they're done professionally, you can try getting an at-home kit and maintaining them yourself.

If you don't like them, or the maintenance, then you can just dye your hair back to its natural color. I think it's a fun, not-too-dramatic way to change your hair, and I'm all for experimentation.

Oh, and make sure you get hair products for colored hair afterward. It's not as bad as with *all* your hair dyed...but you still want to protect the color.

Have fun!

You bet. Go for it. It is just hair that will change anyway. Blonde or red highlights would probably look great. I am thinking of doing red highlights myself. I usually do red highlights during the winter months and blonde in the summer. Good luck. Sam

i would get like platinum high lights. because if you are gonna pay for them you might as well make them noticable. but because you have light brown hair you might want to get low lights. maybe put a cinnamon instead. especially since its getting close to winter. alot of people go darker in the fall and winter

It will look good but remember you will have to keep it up or just dye it back to your original color when you get tired of it. Go for it!
