I had a dog that figured out to ring the doorbell herself when she wanted back in the house. Started to drive me nuts so I disconnected it.

My current dog gets all excited when a doorbell rings on tv. She runs to the door and then when noone else responds to it she starts whining and looking at me as if to say "aren't you going to see who it is...I'm sure someone wants to pat me".
