All due respect to my fellow humans, but dang! It's sure easy to piss off the Muslim community. The BBC reported today that Muslims are all fired up about some British ex-foreign secretary, Jack Straw, who made some insensitive comment about Muslim women's veils straining community relationships.

There will always be stupid people who make stupid comments. You're telling me your God is not strong enough to defend himself from ingnorance? Is he appeased when Muslims get all twisted over stupid statements, like that of the Pope, or a cartoon depiction in some Swedish rag?

And it's not just some Muslims communities. Other religious groups also get equally bent out of shape because they feel they need to defend God instead of focusing on being happy.
What's the point of "judgement day" if people are spending their entire lives doing it for him/her. What's left for the Supreme being to do? Can anyone comment on this WITHOUT saying anti-Muslim or anti-Semite?

Very valid point, and if it came in another form or language, Muslims would have been upset with your question as well...

See, the thing is, Muslims are continually under fire... I personally HATE it... as a person who cares for his religion, you're sort of cornered between two options... one, you just ignore and tell yourself "why should I care for what these pieces of nothing say about it?"... on the other hand, and this is where your conscious kicks in, you would think "what if these cartoons, comments, etc. actually get to all these naive people out there who have no idea about the religion??"... so, in a way you find yourself committed to making a fuss about it, hoping people would listen to what you have to say about it as well.... and let's be honest, the media would love to report some nasty Jack Straw comments... do you think the media would report the replies of some individual Muslims or those of some Imams?? I think not; but once it becomes a series of protests, then the media would turn to Muslims and try to find out and report what the fuss is all about...

get what I'm saying?!

you need to look on the tremendous photo , Liberals run your college and Liberals have an agenda , Liberals will aspect with Muslims because they elect Muslims to undertake the Lib agenda , Libs are a Minority they undertake the themes of social minorities like gays , feminists and unlawful immigrants and now Muslims so one can construct a better balloting block , so for you that's a no win mission , you favor to do what I call using the Tide , basically bypass alongside yet shop your id your self appreciate and your Dignity like a Surfer the Surfer does no longer administration the sea or the Wave the Surfer controls body concepts and the surf board , the Surfer makes use of the sea the Wave and self administration to get to the shore and he / she seems cool even as they do it , you elect an practise so bypass with the tide as a lot as you could yet stay in song with who you're , do not enable issues boost and then explode , hit upon a fashion to vent your frustration , Drums , punching bag , whip a Mountain through mountaineering it then jumping up and down on it , you do not elect to offer up yet you favor to do what's necessary to live to inform the tale and succeed in existence

And yet Christians have no Pat Robertson to condemn those who... oh... wait... yes they do.

I think all religious groups have extremists who rush to attack any perceived slight or negative comment. The Jewish Anti-Defamation League, fanatical Imams, fanatical Fundamentalist preachers, the PMRC (alright: not a religion, but they shouldn't have started putting those silly labels on everything.)

The point of your question is well taken: unfortunately, though, a world withough extremists would be a world without humans.

Indignation feeds the collective ego and gives rotten people an excuse to act like the assholes they truly are. The Muslims are just 1 of many groups that use this time tested approach to empowerment. A strong, worldwide, display of apathy is the only way to combat these sniveling dregs. So let them piss and moan until they're blue. I'm not just referring to the Muslims either. I'm talking about any group, religion, cult, nationality, etc. that would use indignation as means to advance their agenda.

At the risk of showing my age....

Do you remember the song. "Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash?

That song depicts what the frame of mind the Muslims are experiencing. They were peaceful for generations, lived and let live, turned the other cheek, remained quietly faithful and docile - but there was that one final straw; that one last comment; one too many insults that broke them, that turned the tables. They got tired of it and now want to be heard. It's not such a bad thing that they want to be heard, is it?

Let me tell you something you don't know probably.

Western countries are having too much facilitation in Muslim countries and simple Muslims know that.

When someone have this much facilitation and privilege and talks bad about your religious figures, you lash out to cut this privilege and let him lose because of it.

Don't Sh**t where you eat.

This time? when did they ever calm down????

I'm sure any "supreme being" would be able to take these comments with ease. It is the followers who can not handle the views of others and therefore lash out at everything.

people who think of themselves as persecuted people over react. the blacks over react. i am NOT putting down my black brothers and sisters, but any people who feel oppressed tend to stick together as the south did after the war.those people have had there homes bombed the Palestinians land taken children killed for throwing rocks at tanks . they might get bent?the u.s. has killed a 100.000 innocent Iraqi's over one man, there is hatred galore. we should try to make peace, the pope was wrong. knowing that he is a supposed peace maker and a spiritual personage. he should watch his mouth.we should come together in peace . with the spirit of god in our hearts.
