You have to sign the birth certificate. I live in NY and my boyfriend and I werent married when I had my son..well, because we werent married (Im guessing or someone screwed up) but he signed the birth certificate and they didnt put his name on. We had to establish paternity. But I dont believe your name can be put on the birth certificate withour your consent. Call family court and find out. After the baby comes I would do a DNA test asap though because if it is yours Im hoping you'll want to be a part of the baby's life..and if not then at least youll know for sure

in the state of NJ the father must be latest to ascertain that his call to be on the start certificates because of the fact the two mothers and dads could desire to sign. in case you're no longer particular of the guidelines on your state of place of abode, you're superb wager is to have a paternity try performed right this moment after the infant is born. FYI - in case you flow this course, you will could pay out of pocket for the paternity try.

as i understand it, a woman can put anyones name on the birth cert as the father and then when they go after u for child support, u get a blood test done to find out if it is true. now to make double sure foe calif. u call thr HRS or maybe ur local dr. or ur local hospital and ask them, u know someone , a professional, who would really know.

In California, if the parents are NOT married then the father has to be present to sign the certificate. Period.

I believe you have to SIGN the birth certificate for the child to legally have your name, or for you to be listed as the father.

she doesnt need your permission to give the baby your last name...a mother can name her child whatever she wants...but in order for your name to be listed as father there needs to be a paternity test or you have to fill out and sign a voluntary paternity statement

Yes. In Calif. it is whatever the Mother writes & signs in the form before she is released. May have changed recently though.
