Certain people are i think. What ticks me off is they come here with nothing and then within 2 years they get all the civil jobs. My brother went for a job at the state rail several weeks ago and he didnt get it. out of the 23 that turned up for thre job they were all indian except for 2 off them. My brother tried to engage in conversation and no one could speak english???um hello?? If they let the immigrants in they should have to pass a english exam and the goverment should make a rule about work places having only a percentage of immigrants. My husband lost his job because 2 asian men walked in off the street and said to his boss" we will work for $20.00 a day less than your other workers" 2 men lost there jobs. Thats wrong.

First, immigration as a whole is the only reason we have a country.

Second, immigrants are not bad; they are looking for an opportunity or lifestyle they can't find anywhere else.

Unfortunately most of them don't have the necessary skills, education, or work experience to be sponsored for an
H-1B Visa. This Visa is what is needed for an immigrant to lawfully work in the United States, unless that person is from Canada or Mexico, then they need a TN Visa under NAFTA regulations.

Many immigrants leave their country for the mere purpose of survival. They come here for a better life, but still hold their origin country in their hearts. If their had a chance to make it in the own country their would. United States of America is a great opportunity for anyone who has the will to fulfill their desire or dreams of a better life. Many remain here after so many years, never to return to their own country other then a short vacation. Imagine this, leaving your family and country behind not because you want to, but you have to, in order to eat and help feed your family. There are some who take advantage of USA, but for the most part it is for shelter.

Both. If your state is California (like mine), many people who are not immigrants (legal or illegal) are defrauding the system. We need to rid our state of the people who are criminals first before we start kicking them out, because they will only come back somewhere else. We need photos, fingerprints & DNA data centers. My Grandparents were immigrants who came to America to be free & prosper. They were able to achieve their dream & now others want the same & we should welcome them. We should also make sure they will be good citizens by teaching them the language & how our country works & thrives for everyone with taxes that we pay. No one should be working for cash without benefits being paid in, so that when they need help, there will be money to take out in order to help them, just like the rest of us!

America is a nation of immigrants... historically our ancestors came here for a chance at a life of freedom and opportunity... they learned to read and write in English, hte language of the country (unless they already spoke it)

the problem with illegals is that they break the law to get here, refuse to learn our language, steal from our welfare system, our health care system, and our schools without paying the taxes citizens do for these services.

If you are against immigration in any form then you need some History lessons. Here is a tip: study about opposition to immigration from Federalists in late 1700's.

Legal immigrants are good for the American economy and that's why the American government selected them based on their potentials before granting them their legal documents. The illegals are the problem. They are not screened before they entered the U.S. Many of them had to come in illegally because they are not qualified by the American standard.Only God knows what kind of disease they bring in with them daily. Unlike the legals, the illegals are the ones giving average Americans headaches when it comes to menial jobs. I read someone complaining about her husband losing his job to an illegal immigrant who will work for less than minimum wage. This is the problems illegals cause. Legals don't have to work for less pay because they have all that's required to be competetive as their American counterpart.

Immigrants can be a good addition to our country so long as the people who come here are willing to work for a living.
