Because it's made of sugar, and the sugar can coat your teeth and stay there all day. But then again, anything you eat can be bad for your teeth if you don't brush twice a day. I ate lot's of candy growing up but I was always faithful in my brushing routine. I only have 1 cavity, and I'm in my 20's.

Sugar isn't bad for your teeth. Not brushing your teeth is bad for your teeth. If you eat a lot of sugar and neglect to brush your teeth, loads of bacteria form and start to eat away at your teeth.
Eat all the candy you want, but brush your teeth twice a day.

The sugar sticks to your teeth. It's not so much the candy, it's how often and how well you brush them.
My grandma told us just brush the ones we wanted to keep!

Sugars when left on eat the protective enamel away! That's why good oral hygiene is so important like brushing at least twice a day! Peace!

The sugar feeds the bacteria in the plaque, and causes cavities.
(or something like that) Anyway sticky sweets that get down into your tooth crevices do cause cavities.
