That is a question that may have more Merritt then you think. Your parents might have let you go if she went because then there would be two people in a place together rather then you going by yourself, or if it is a family vacation, everyone should agree on where to go so everyone has a good time. my two cents worth

Yes, do you remember the girl who went with her class on vacation and was kidnapped? your parents are just being cautious, it may be overly cautious they just love you and want to make sure if you go your going with someone that they know personally and completely trust.
