Does he enjoy working with his hands? get him a home depot or lowes gift card. or, is he a fisherman or hunter? get him a cabales or gander mountain gift card. as a dad those kinds of things are what i enjoy getting so i can go buy what i want. I also enjoy some nice toasty socks.
I should have added your other answers are correct in the fact that no matter what you get him He will appreciate the gesture all the same. and i am sure even if it was just a 10 dollar gift card for what ever he would find a use for it.

well what's he like? Is he the layback and watch tv kinda dad? Is he the I'm go'n fishing, the lets go biking, the I want to ride my bike, the I like modle cars kinda father? There's many things you can get your dad. I'm just thinking of what store you should go to. There's also the hand made present. No Parent could resist such a present. Creativatiy out of the mind is the best formula for parents gifts.

My dad is horribly bad to buy for! But I end up thinking about what he likes and I get him things along those lines. Does your dad like sports? Get him something sport-team-themed. Does he like any particular subject like the Civil War, or art? You could get him a book about whatever subjects he likes. Or clothes sometimes do the trick. :) Also, I am a fan of gift certificates - Lowes, Home Depot, Waldens, etc. :) Good Luck!

If you just think about your Dad you will come up with something. What does your Dad like to do? What is his favorite color? What if anything does he collect? Does he read? Does he play golf? Does he like to do yard work? Just really think about your Dad and only your Dad. I bet you will come up with something perfect. If all else fails Make him something special. Make him a scrapbook of pictures Of you and him. Or just him doing things he loves to do. You will come up with something special I am sure of it.. Good luck and happy Birthday to your Dad!

That's easy enough what has he been talking about lately. Get him into a conversation about what it is that he's been upto lately and should be able to decipher from his answer what he truly would enjoy!
