Generally, STDs are not passed by coming in contact with a toilet seat. Most STDs are only transmitted during sexual contact, either by skin-to-skin contact or through body fluid exchange.
Crabs, or pubic lice, may be transmitted through sexual contact, sleeping in infected bedding, sharing infected clothing and possibly through sitting on an infested toilet seat. However, lice cannot survive away from the human body for longer than 24 hours. So contracting pubic lice from a toilet seat is possible, but it's unlikely.

Sad but true, espeacially if some one diagnosed with genital herpes is experiencing an out-break when using the restroom. This is why you should habit yourself to using the offered toilet seat covers, if there are none I wouldn't sit down if I were you.

Only if you are dumb enough to sit in a puddle of blood that is on the seat and you have a cut that the blood could go into.

Highly highly unlikely

answer by using Dr. John A Vaughn: "Assuming which you're using the lavatory for its meant purpose, this is extremely no longer likely which you're able to have the means to capture an STI from a rest room seat. the main consumer-friendly organisms in charge for sexually transmitted infections can not stay to tell the story long outdoors the human physique. Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Herpes, Trichomonas, HPV and HIV all require direct epidermis-to-epidermis or physique fluid touch for transmission. If an contaminated man or woman did ensue to flow away semen, vaginal secretions, blood and/or saliva on a rest room seat, the organisms could then could be latest in sufficient numbers to reason an infection - back, very no longer likely. yet in spite of in case you probably did take a seat on the porcelain throne from Hell and in spite of if there have been sufficient organisms left on the seat, you're able to additionally could have some form of open wound on your backside for them to contaminate you in view it is virtually impossible for them to penetrate intact epidermis. One theoretical exception may be pubic lice or "crabs." those critters can stay outdoors the physique for as much as 24 hours on sheets, clothing, towels, etc. yet they actually desire to snuggle up in heat places - and their ft are no longer designed to stroll on gentle complicated surfaces - so it is very no longer likely that they could flow away the delicate ecosystem of somebody's bits and products for the chilly skating rink of a rest room seat."
