I have a tribal tattoo on my arm that I would like to get covered up.
Its about 1 yr old and not very dark
it was my first tat and now I dont like it, I would like something with alot more color and detail.
Its about 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide.
Im willing to get a half sleve and ready to spend some benjamins on this.
My question is,
What are some of the best colors to use in order to cover up a tribal ( have Olive tone skin ) not dark/not light
or will any color do the trick
and about how much should I expect to pay for something like this ???
Thanks for the help in advance.

Forgot to mention there is no big solid black areas in my tat.
So im thinking that is a plus.

I was in the same situation, but mine was on my leg. It was faded black tribal that i covered with blue flames. Unfortunately I can still see the tribal underneath. I covered with a darker blue. However I do not really mind that I can still see it. I did not like that tattoo ( I was only 15 when I got it) but now i have my leg done so seeing a little bit of my old tat showing through just reminds me of when I was younger kinda. I have memories that go with that tat so when i look at it i think of those memories. The main thing for covering is you are going have to color darker. In my case it was black so i just chose dark blue cause i did not want a big black ball on my leg. for me the cost to cover up was no different from getting a regular tat. Good luck and never regret any tat's life is too short for regrets. Why worry about one little mistake when you still got a whole body to work with??

The cost of the cover up tattoo is going to depend on how big it is along with how detailed it is. As far as colors go, I'm almost positive you can use any colors. It would be in your best interest to find a reputable artist in your area and have a consult with them. They would love to answer your questions for you, and can even offer suggestions of how to cover up the current tattoo.

We do beautiful coverups at our shop. Yes, you can cover black ink. And yes, you can cover it with either black or colored ink. It doesn't make a difference. As long as you choose a *talented* artist who has experience with cover-up work. Don't go to just any shmuck. Do your research. For really *really* dark tattoos, sometimes we go over it a few times with white ink, to "bleach" it out a bit. You come back for your next appointment, and we can go over it with just about anything. But that is a rare thing. We do coverups and reworks on a daily basis with a high success rate. Once again, do your research. Look at portfolios, ask questions, and don't be cheap when it comes to your body. Cheap tattoos arent good, and good tattoos arent cheap. Your worth every penny, folks:)

I'd be cautious. Some colors don't hold. I have olive skin and the purple and green on my dragon faded away, so now all I have is a black outline............it's still cool, but not colorful. Any tat artist will tell you the same thing. Also, check your prices, a half sleve can be pricey. Good luck.

the best thing to do is to go to a tat artist and have them look at it because although i have several tats on my body i cant give you an honest answer as to what to do. if you can send me a picture of it. but i can say expect to spend at least 400-1600 to cover it based on size and detail

go to the experts @ the Tattoo place and let them give you a consultation. then they can actually look at it to see what can be down, how big it will be, and much it will cost to get what you want done
