Marijuana for medicinal purposes comes with a prescription. When my friend was battling cancer, she was prescribed Marinol, which was a pill form of marijuana... it helped alleviate the nausea she got from the chemotherapy. ANd she certainly didn't go driving around when she was under the influence of the marinol. If a cancer patient is under the influence of prescribed marijuana and also is out in public drawing attention to themselves, like, say driving, then their stupidity has earned them a negative encounter with police. Because by enforcing the laws, the police are keeping the rest of the public safe. Not minimalizing the whole cancer problem, but having cancer doesn't earn anyone the right to endanger the rest of the public, for example, by taking medicinal marijuana and then operating a car.
Take the marijuana to ease the nausea, but stay home.

Don't even go here. You are breaking the law period. There are a million legal drugs out there that you can use. I know several people that have had cancer and painful treatments, not one wanted or needed a tote. Perhaps you should be allowed to use crack too, that would alleviate the pain.

You're misinformed. Marijunna is mostly given to patients in another form, than a 'joint', or 'bowl'. And even then, patiens are given a permit to show to police. And even then, they're not aloud to walk down the street using drugs, or stash them in their cars, or sell them.
The fact is, if you tell a police officer. "Thats for medical use". He's going to arrest you probably because your little bag of weed stashed in your pocket isnt exactly what's considered 'medical treatment'. And if you can't prove you have a presription, than you've broken the law.

federal law supersedes state law and yeah that dose suck because i know it can help some people but i think there needs to be a better job done in monitoring people that use it. If say you had to use it at a Dr office and not be able to take it home that is a better idea .

I think marijuana should be used solely for medical purposes and should be legalized for that but should be a controlled substance and that people shouldn't be arrested for legally using it, including it were legal to use it.
