Purchase a metal steamer, very cheap, they fit inside of a regular pot, and you place the vegetables in the steamer with the water in the bottom of the pot and cover and bring to a boil. This is healthier because you are steaming the veggies instead of boiling all of he nutrients and vitamins out of it. You can find them in the appliance aisle in most department stores for a few dollars.Good luck, try it you'll like it they taste a lot better also. God bless.

Steam the broccoli. If you don't have a steamer you can use a large skillet with about a quarter inch water, add salt and cover. Bring to boil reduce to medium 2 minutes max. Delicious and healthy.
Corn, use white corn on cob (very sweet). Steam or boil. White corn is great with no butter just salt and pepper. Or for a mexican flare. Squeeze lemon juice over cooked cobs and sprinkle with salt and chili powder.

Steam them in the microwave.

Husk the corn and rinse it well. Put it in a microwave-safe container. Add a little water and put a lid on it or plastic wrap. Cook it on high for about 6 or 7 minutes (cooking time will depend on your microwave and the number of ears of corn you're cooking).

I do broccoli just about the same way, but I don't add as much water and I don't cook it as long. When it's done, I drain it and sprinkle with a little salt and peppers and splash lemon juice on it.

If you want to cook corn on your stove, just put it in boiling water for about 7-8 minutes. I add a pinch of sugar to the water -- it really brings out the sweetness in the corn and doesn't add a lot of calories. I never salt the water during cooking -- it makes the kernels tough. You can always salt it before eating. My husband is from Nebraska (corn country) and he is amazed that the corn on the east coast is so sweet! I didn't tell him about my sugar trick! You can add a pinch of sugar to the microwave method, but it doesn't work as well.

For corn on the cob, check the first website below. They have step by step instructions with photographs for grilling, microwaving, steaming and boiling. I like to put a little butter and salt on it, but it's wonderful just plain, too.

For broccoli, I like to steam it. If you don't have a steamer basket for your pan, try putting the broccoli in a metal colander or strainer while it rests over a pan of boiling water. Steam it for about 4-5 minutes, until it is bright green and still a little firm. You can just boil it in a small amount of water, if nothing else. If you cook it too long it gets mushy and bitter and turns dark olive green. I eat it just plain - it's sort of sweet. You can add a tiny bit of butter, or spritz it with olive oil and vinegar, or sprinkle it with chopped almonds or sesame seeds, or a tiny bit of lemon juice.

Corn - leave in the husk - run under cold water - nuke until tender - about 4 minutes.

Broccoli - I steam this also in the microwave, but I have a steam tray for microwaves - a little salted water on the bottom, and nuke for about 7-10 minutes.

if you dont have a steamer i reccomend putting the broccoili in boiling water and the corn in the cob in the oven wrapped in tin foil with some butter - takes about an hour though but really keeps its flavour. or just boil them both in pan

Steam them, then. I use just herbs on the broc, but a little flavored butter on the corn.

Steam cooking is the healthiest way since you don't use any oils.
