What is a runner bean, please?
Your question sounds like everyone in the world of course knows what you are talking about, but frankly, I have never heard that expression and have no idea what it might be.
Is it really a bean?

They grow on vines that "run" along a wire or a net or a pole - also called pole beans here in the south.
