I now have the FiOS Internet, and it works great, and television is not in my area yet. I would like to know if someone who has it recommends it. How would you compare it to Comcast Digital Cable, and Dish Network/DirecTV? They say it should be available in six weeks.

simply the best as it got the best bandwidth to the house in my neighborhood the local box has a OC48 which is a 48 optical cable so bandwidth is not constrained as in cable which is run on a copper line or satellite which is bandwidth limited.

Satellite also deals with broadcasting all local channels across the country out of there satellites set up for DISH, so has to tightly compress signals to the satellites customers which is why they experience artifacting which as a block of the old signal staying when it should be refreshed.

both cable and FIOS get there feed off satellite but not of the satellite TV but instead the older Ca band which always for a much wider signal.
for old school people it the old 6 foot dish satellite dish network which died due to the fact almost all the channels became encrypted
so Fios TV simply has a great Picture with no issues of rain fade or artifacting like cable and satellite suffer from now due to new features such as vid on demand and HDTV
