Well, I'd say that it lets us know first that the Lord understands what it means to be brokenhearted. You can't really know how someone feels if you haven't experienced it yourself. Then, I think it shows how when you have no where to go and you feel you don't have strength enough to face another minute much less another day, then He will be there to hold you and give you that strength until you can stand again. I've been there, when I lost my baby before he was born, when my marriage fell apart, when my best friend betrayed me by sleeping with my husband. Oh yea, I've been brokenhearted, but God has always been there to guide me past the pain. He has made me stronger every time. Good verse you've chosen. I hope this helps you in what you are looking for. :)

Yes I went through an awful experience, I temporarily lost my son in a custody battle, and my spouse filed bogus charges against me for interference with child custody, I was arrested and placed in jail for three week, cause the bail was set so high. But two days before all this happened, I was told approx 4 or 5 times, not by an audible voice but in my spirit, He who's mind is stayed on me shall have perfect peace. This instruction from the Holy Spirit of God was the only reason I made it through my ordeal without loosing my mind, I was so distraught when I got out of jail I could only speak in broken English, even though that is the only language I have ever spoken.

Yup. When my Mom died (I was 14), I fell into a deep depression. Over the course of only a few weeks, I felt God's nearness & love. Didn't take very long, maybe 2 months, & I was back to my old self again. The pain was still there, but it certainly wasn't as unbearable as it would have been if I hadn't had Him. I evidence this in the fact that my other 2 brothers & 2 sisters are still going through their first "stages" of the grief process, & it's been almost 15 years since Mom died.

My experience is that this is absolutely true.
It's not hard to break a heart and crush a spirit. And it's impossible for a broken heart and crushed spirit to ever really be restored to where it was before. But nothing is impossible with God.
The hard part on the part of a person who's been broken and crushed is the surrender. And in order to surrender there has to be trust. It took a lot of years for a trust to be built in me so that I could fully surrender to the work that only God could do to restore my heart and spirit. But, by His grace, I didn't give up on Him, and He proved Himself to be faithful and true.
And today I am whole.

THE LORD is always close to those in times of trouble and need all we need to do is ask for HIS help and support. HE will lift up the spirit of those who are down because HE is there and knows what every ones needs and wants are. all we need to do is call upon HIM.

Easy!
God, like any father, quickly hears and responds to any of His children who have been hurt and are going through trials.
He will always do what He can to comfort and help us.
There is little He can do though, about the trials and challenges that we end up putting ourselves through except to help us pick up the pieces and send advice and assistance through others.
"When God closes a door He opens a window."
We just have to be able to stop staring at the door and find the window.
It's there.
Elitha - I had the exact same things happen to me too and I have only one question I would like to ask you......WHY DO THEY END UP SLEEPING WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND?????????????
ARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!
Some best friends we had.
Sheesh!

When I lost my brother who died at an early age in a car accident, God gave me a peace that passeth understanding. Because my brother had accepted Jesus Christ 2 years before he died, I knew that I would see again in heaven someday.

It's about the grace of God.
Brokeness is a state when you realize that you need God because of your sinfulness. You feel that you are a grave disappointment to God, but God is close to those that know they are a sinner, and He is distant from those that are too proud to admit it.
