No, it's not insensitive. It's their phone, after all. Now - if they left religious babble on YOUR voicemail - that might be rude, especially if they didn't know you, or knew it wasn't your thing. But since that doesn't seem to be the case - let them have their religious outgoing message. It doesn't harm anyone.

It's their business. I suppose next you'll say it's the Christians who are intolerant? Of course if it's a long speech, it seems a little silly to me, some people just make a remark like 'Remember, God loves you' - something short and sweet and to the point. In any case does anyone get upset at your voice mail? Some people trying to be funny can be awfully boring with their answering messages as well.

Is it insensitive for you to go to the trouble of dialing a number, and listening to a message you don't like, just so you can log onto YA and create another complaining question? d:c) This is funny!

No offense intended. Just had to laugh. I hope that's what you intended. If not, well, it's something to constructively consider at least.

What "babble"?

The preaching of the Cross is, to them that perish, foolishness.

And, did they telephone you and play their voicemail so all of you had to hear it?

Or, did YOU telephone THEIR number?
Why did you phone their number?
Do you like them?
Then why not courteously listen to what they have to say?

Why are you calling them?

Oh, btw, most of the time you can press 3* and it will bypass the voicemail.

this is the free will of the person who placed this message on their answering machine. if you want to leave a rebuttal message this is your choice in practicing free will as long as you abide by the laws rules and mores of the culture and society in which you live and do not go against any ones free will.

Better question... Is it overly sensitive of you to be offended by someone's "religious babble"?

proselytizing to voice mail finds my delete keys pretty quick..

Fact, I was baptized as a baby and consider myself as much a (c)hristian as the bible thumping Jesus freaks that try to beat down doors and shout from the mountaintops.. A person is a christian by their actions not their words.

Everyone has a right to their own answering machine message. If you don't like the message, don't call that person.
