I've had it and it came from an arabic country. So maybe they do counterfeit coke.

Don't know about counterfeit coke, but.......while going to college in Pittsburgh, Pa. in the early 1970s, I bought a coke out of a vending machine, when it was still in bottles. Popped the cap off and immediately saw a piece of plastic coated electrical wire
that was just as high as the inside of the bottle, so it stuck above the coke. I never drank from it so I don't know if it tasted mediciney or not. By the way, I've never bought or drank a coke since.

I have bought coke in a bottle and it had a strange mediciney taste to it twice now, didnt think much, except wont buy coke again.

I know that coke tastes different in different coutries and possibly different bottling plants. I prefer coke in a bottle (crisp and clear) to a can. The cans sometimes taste metallic (maybe mediciny).

No, could just be old. This is especially true of diet coke as the aspertane will break down over time, especially if it gets hot.

No -- but I've gotten cans that tasted bad. I think it was when they sat in my hot garage for awhile before I refrigerated them.
