Hi,

For my Hens night last October, we went out for tea at a nice restaurant first up. That way my mum, aunties and mother in law could come along for the first part of the night. My bridesmaids made me a veil and sash that said "bride to be" so we got a lot of attention in the restaurant, and everyone was laughing and having a great time. The girls organised a set menu, so they could let everyone know in advance how much it would be. And made sure they booked somewhere that allowed us to bring our own alcohol. That was important because it really reduced our costs. After tea, the younger people in the group headed out to go nightclubbing. My bridesmaid had bought a t-shirt and sewed lifesavers onto it, and while we were walking around we charged guys $2 to suck one off ;). We made almost $100 from that, so that paid for some more drinks. And I got alot of my drinks bought for me, because of the sash and veil. We also had a mini scavenger hunt. We had to collect a guys phone number, a pair of boxer shorts off a guy, a business card, a cigar, a drumstick (that one was hard!!) and stuff like that. It was an awesome night!!

Good luck with everything!!
x

Something different... if the party is soon, why not go out for Halloween on the Town? See what bars or clubs are doing costume parties and go for it. You guys could have a ball with the costume options.

I love the comedy club and winery ideas. Or you could totally regress and do something "childish" like an art night followed by drinks at home and a slumber party.

In regards to the cost, I have ALWAYS had to pay my full share at bachlorette parties. Just makes sure the other gals know what the "price range" is. And don't forget to cover the bride!!

Definately do a party at your house, if you have the space. there are tons of things you can do:

Spa Party - buy some inexpensive facial masks from the drugstore, cut some cucumbers. Serve champagne or other cocktails. For favors, you can buy a cheap large bottle of bath salts and put them in little pretty bags and give out to guests. Food can be anything you want.

Afternoon Tea Party - pretty typical stuff - tea, scones, cakes, finger sandwiches, etc.

Bollywood party - Supply some bindis and indian music. Ask guests to come in bollywood style clothes and dance the night away. Can serve Indian food.

Party in Honor of your Sister - does your sister have a favorite movie that can be put into a party theme? Fav. music? Art? Sports? Try to think of her likes and incorporate it into a party. For example - if your sis is 27, that means she was born in 1978/79. You could have a 70s disco themed party.

Host a fun party.
All you supply is the guest and the refreshments, the lady that has the items for a party like this one can be found on the web. She will bring the items and all sales are private and some of the girls could actually buy the items your sister may find interesting for her.
You may find it to be a fun inquiring minds type of thing

Here is a fun idea/game: Buy brown paper bags (like the ones you would put your lunch into when you were a kid), go to a fun/naughty shop and buy a bunch of toys (we bought extensions, condoms, beads, fuzzy handcuffs, etc, just as long as they are small enough to fit in the brown lunch bags), then buy or make other things that could be confused for these fun toys (jello, fuzzy cat toys, etc). The purpose of the game is to have each item in a bag. You are to take one bag at a time and let each person try to guess what is in the bag. At the end of the game whom ever has the most can win a prize in the brown bag of their chosing. That's what we did and it was a ton of fun. I even had my parents in on the fun!!! Everyone really enjoyed it and their prizes.

Rent a really full size limo, the big ones can hold like 18 people, and go to a fun destination. I live in the northeast so popular spots are like broadway. alantic city, foxwoods. But I am sure there would have to be some kind of comedy club or odd kind of nightclub around you. Its a hole lot more fun when you don't have to think about getting pulled over on the way home

We are not rich either. My sisters threw one for me. We all meet at my sisters house first and had appetizers and drank there so we didn't have to pay the insane prices at clubs. My sister was the designated driver so she didn't drink at all, then we all piled into my sisters big SUV and went to a club it was ladies night as well so we got in for free, when we got there it was alot about hanging out with the ladies some of the other ladies bought me drinks all night and I had my own money. But it was a blast. Good Luck

My sister in-law and my sister got together my bridesmaids along with a few cousins of our and rented in the real nice hotel/resort only rich people stay there but since it was only for one night it was affordable... we hung out in the room and they had the door decorated with caution tape, which brought us a lot of attention, they ofcourse called in a male stripper, we all drank and got dressed in a "theme" which was lingerie!! we took crazy pics in our costums and when we all got real drunk we walk the casino/resort and went bar hopping in afew of the bars at the hotel... the laughs lasted all night... the pictures are crazy and fun... we can truly say it was a fantastic experience!! the next morning we had to pack up our stuff and turn in the keys but we stuck around the pool and bar area till about 6 and all went home... I was ssso tired, but it was a great girls night!!

Go to a comedy club (buy the bride-to-be a "last night out" shirt so the comedian(s) can use her in material) just be sure you dont hit one of those clubs where all they do is slam people instead of making good jokes. She will likely be a little embarrassed at first but if shes got a good ense of humor she can "heckle" them back (bouncers dont have a fit if your in good humor and not being disruptive)

Have a mini masquerade ball, All dress up and wear little masks, hire cocktail machines and play fun games. Where there is good company there is good laughter! Otherwise a winery tour and get each person to pay their own way! Very fun day!
