You might feel panic when you write essay since the topic is somehow "unfamiliar". Start writing essays that you are familiar with. Like, if you love listening to music, give some reasons why you love it. It seems you don't have much difficulty giving reasons, but rather in explaining your reasons. If you are keep telling yourself those reasons, which you already know, you'll feel that you know it already, and don't want to explain at all. It might be hard, but try being your own reader. Read your essay like you have no clue about it. If that's not easy, ask someone to read it. Somebody will help you, maybe?

easy tips to remember about essays.. u need structure, organization, and strong reasons/explanations to support whatever u are saying. and remember, essays are meant to be somewhat Persuasive... u have to PROVE that what u are talking about make sense, why it is important, and pretend as if the reader has No clue beforehand, and after reading ur essay, will be much better informed.
before u write, u need to brainstorm. draw a circle in the middle of a blank page, and branch of different reasons, anything, that pertain to it. for example, say ur essay is on..... characteristics of Harry Potter.
so, draw a circle w/ Harry Potter in the middle. then branch out and draw another circle, and write inside "Orphan", do it again with "Wizard", "Cool", "Confused", "Friendly", "Brave", "Reckless",etc etc.... and u can have sub categories within... like with orphan u can branch out again and put "lonely", "Scared", "clueless about magic", etc.
anyways, once u do that, pick the 3 Strongest reasons. So, let's say we choose Friendly, Brave and Reckless. these will be the 3 paragraphs of the Body...and remember to use the Weakest one first, and keep the strongest one as your last paragraph in the body.
remember this template:
Introduction: includes thesis statement stating what u are talking about: (Harry Potter's new experience at Hogwarts as a wizard introduces a range of Positive, and Negative, characteristics of being Friendly, Brave, and Reckless.) something like that....
Body:
paragraph1: prove how he is Friendly... have good quotes from the book to support...focus on Friendliness
paragraph2: prove how he is Brave
paragraph3: prove how he is Reckless
Conclusion
conclusion sentence, ties everything together.
good luck!!!! :)
