Can anyone reccommend a free OCR program?
I have about 300 pages to scan
and I don't want to have to type all that too.
There are several out there,
just wondered if anyone may have tried several
and found one that they prefer over all the others.

My scanner came with OCR software and photo editor.
I haven't seen any free software for OCR, just trial versions which put a big watermark across your scan.

The best I've ever used is ReadIRIS Pro. It's not free, but it's fully functional for 30 days. Best of all you can save as a Microsoft Word document with all the formatting in place.

Generally scanners come with built in OCR capability in their software.
