I am training at work listening to someone talk at me in an office environment. How do I stay awake?

First, you have to accept that you have to be there for work.

Second, know that you are expected to know whatever they are training you on.

Knowing that, does it make any sense to NOT take it seriously and get the most out of it by activily participating and maybe learning?

You don't.

I've tried coffee, squeezing my earlobe, Coke (the soda), biting my tongue, asking a bunch of questions, going to bed SUPER early, turning the air way low, wearing a bra that was too tight, you name it.

Nothing works. It's not the fact that I am tired because usually I'm not. It's sitting down for 8 hours and listening to the same voice drone on and on.

Only effective way is to get involved in the training program completely and concentrate. Coffee breaks every two hours would also help.

Bring candy or other treats to munch on.
Bring a notebook. When they're talking you can doodle.
Ask for breaks when you need them.

Is the topic a boring one or the instructor boring? If the instructor is allowing questions during his/her presentation ask questions that might promote a debate or grand discussion.
