i used to work with a woman called linda once who used to do nothing but talk about her family, once the shop was moving and we where both in the closing down sale and it went on so long there where no longer customers coming in the store which meant linda and i had 3 hours free time to talk about her family! I swear i know more about her family than she does now, I actually ran out of ways of saying "yes" "uh-hu" "oh right" ...in the end i was just looking at her and thinking, what would happen if i just walked out the shop now???? Arr man that was a shift and a half!!!!!

Not this Saturday cos you are gonna kill Linda with so much kindness she won't know what to do - you are gonna smile all day sweetly while gritting your teeth and you are gonna ignore all the horrible things she says.
Then next Saturday Linda will leave you alone - trust me it never fails!!

You haven't given much background to go on but I'll do my best. Don't approach her in a group, this can make her feel "ganged up on". She will feel threatened and defensive and nothing postive will be accomplished. Appoint a spokesperson to take her aside privately and tell her how everyone feels. Don't take an accusatory tone -- she may not be aware of the effect she has. Give her a chance to explain herself and a chance to change. If there's anything positive you can say to her about herself, say it.
