We are both college students so no money. But I would like to get out of southern California for a few days we like to drive. We have been to the south and east like Arizona, and Nevada. Got any ideas…. Oh and we went to San Francisco, don’t want to go again!

I live in the San Fernando Valley, so I can relate...it doesn't really feel like Christmas out here, does it? During the Winter season last year, my boyfriend and I went up near Mountain High off of Pearblossom Highway and played in the snow (I'm 24, and young enough to still appreciate "playing.") That's free, and beautiful! As far as driving trips go, I would suggest New Mexico (yes, New Mexico.) Again, my boyfriend and I just went there, and it is actually very pretty...the roads are so peaceful. There is not much to do in Albuquerque except for the Sandia Peak Tramway, which will be beautiful in the Winter. Ruidoso is a pretty, quiet foresty type of town. Santa Fe is very elegant. If all else fails, drive to Seattle up the 1 Highway...can't beat the views you'll see!

How about you stay home and have an Old Fashioned Christmas for your little person. Christmas is for Children and they should not be cooped up in car but rather playing under the tree and enjoying the magic of the season. Take the gas money and maybe buy an electric train for under the tree .... 2 1/2 yrs is the time to start making memories - this will really be the first Christmas he / she remembers, so please, make it special. Not the back seat of the car.
