A zip file is like a package that contains other files inside it. You won't know until you download it and open it if Windows Media player will be able to play the files inside.

a .zip file is a compressed file, you need to right click it and click extract and then open the folder that will be in the same directory as the original .zip file, then play the file.

.zip is a file compression format. You will need to use software such as WinZip to un-compress the file. You will then be able to access the media files.
