The food is pretty expensive and really not that great. Most older people are always looking for a bargain.

I think selection has something to do with it. Many older people live alone, and cook the same old thing all the time because it is too much trouble to fix some things just for one person. Also, a lot of the food isn't highly spiced or salty, and many are on restricted diets. Or maybe it is just that having reached a certain age they feel they deserve a tray full of nothing but desserts if they want them!

the food is great but lubys has changed a lot but people still love there food probaly because its good they have good strawberry short cake

because the staff is used to people that need to move slower. its all a scam -- who cares about the food -- when you are old your taste buds go but you need someone who can hold your arm and guide you to your seat and waiters that talk monosyllabically kind of loud so you can hear them.
