The old testiment could do with some updating. Like maybe God created the land and the sea and the great void of space and put the air of the sky between them to seperate them. And he did create the Sun for light and warmth and the moon for tides . And God said let the salt of the sea come together and form life, and let it multiply and deversify into all areas of the world. And God did see this happen over many years and the first plants came to be and the first fish and he looked at them and saw they were good.

I think something that fits in with modern knowledge, ya know, rather than keeping bits like the sky being made of water and the heavens being a solid shield to keep it seperate from the land and sea. Also bits that don't contradict each other would be good. Perhaps one auther could go through the first time and tie bits together. The contradiction between Genesis chapter 1 & 2 was a bit of a let down, so early in and it's already undecided when man and animals were made.

Or ya know, you could just enterprite the whole thing as symbolic rather than literal as it seems it was meant to be.

I disagree with your first actual sentence. i've got faith that the Holy Bible isn't "the words of folk." i've got faith that the Holy Bible is God's own e book. and each word in the unique Hebrew, and the unique Chaldean, and the unique Greek languages replaced into given straight away by using God Himself to the adult males who took pen in hand and easily copied down what God replaced into telling them. So it is plenty better than basically the writings of diverse people. it is somewhat organic, somewhat precise, somewhat truthful, and somewhat significant. in addition to those that take the Bible S-E-R-I-O-united statesL-Y have found out that the proliferation of homosexuality is an instantaneous sign from God that the full international is extremely on the edge of the tip. And we've additionally found out from the Bible that Judgment Day will initiate precisely on could 21, 2011. And it is yet attainable to flee the arriving destruction. we are commanded to tutor removed from our sins, and to beg God for mercy. it may be that he will spare us.

God does continue to give revelation to his children. God has a prophet on earth today. God knows that we continue to need his guidence. When Jesus said "It is finished" he was referring to his mission that he needed to accomplish in this mortal life. This does not mean the end to revelation as there were still more books of the Bible written after he said this. God is the same yesterday, today and forever, which means he would continue to call prophets today just as he did anciently. Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord God will do nothing save he reveal his secrets unto his servants the prophets." http://www.mormon.org/welcome/0,6929,403-1,00.html

Update it how? You may feel its 'outdated' but God created us, he knows whats good and bad for us. So what then would be the point of changing the Bible. Its the perfect book of laws and rules for us to follow to keep us safe.

Because God is the same yesterday, today and tomarrow, He never changes. Same for His word. It is the same never changes. If you read it prayerfully you will see the bible very much speaks of things going on today and for the future but in the old and new testament.

It was human beings who wrote the Bible. Like in a quote in a book I read ",it was the word of God not written BY God". That's a very good quote don't ya think.

Why would He need too? The Holy Bible applies to our lives as much today as it did 2000+ years ago.

Besides, why mess with perfection!
